Parents’ Code of Conduct
Providence Academy Athletics strives to provide a positive environment where student-athletes can grow not only as athletes but also as responsible, respectful, and engaged members of our community. Parents, coaches, players, and spectators all play a vital role in creating this supportive environment.
Please read this Parents’ Code of Conduct carefully and review it with your child. All members of the Providence Academy Athletics community are expected to follow these guidelines.
Parents’ and Spectators’ Expectations
Parents and spectators will:
- Serve as positive role models by encouraging good sportsmanship in winning, losing, playing, and cheering.
- Teach and reinforce the value of teamwork, resilience, and respect for all participants.
- Conduct themselves in a manner that supports the team and all student-athletes.
- Encourage their children to practice skills and effort outside of team activities.
- Ensure their children show respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and spectators.
- Refrain from ridiculing or publicly criticizing players, coaches, officials, or spectators.
- Inform coaches of any injury, medical condition, or other circumstance that may affect their child’s safety or participation.
- Respect the decisions of officials, referees, and Providence Academy Athletics administrators.
- Support the rules, regulations, and policies established by Providence Academy Athletics.
- Avoid questioning officials’ decisions during or immediately after contests.
- Approach coaches respectfully and at appropriate times to discuss concerns, after a 48-hour period, not immediately following a game.
- Be free of drugs and alcohol while attending any Providence Academy Athletics event.
- Refrain from using tobacco products or e-cigarettes at school athletic events.
- Bring complaints or concerns first to the head coach of the team. If unresolved, communicate respectfully with Providence Academy Athletics administration for proper resolution.
