Jeremiah Zilka

Head Boys' Varsity Coach

Coach Jeremiah has been part of the Providence Academy boys soccer program since 2023, serving as a varsity assistant coach for two seasons before stepping into the head coach role in 2025. He also coaches at the Juniors level with Minnesota Thunder Academy.

A collegiate player at Bethel University, Jeremiah graduated in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature. After his first season as head coach, his record stands at 7–10–1, reflecting a strong foundation as he continues to build and develop the program.

Paul Zilka

Boys Varsity Assistant Coach

Paul Zilka joined Providence Academy Boys Soccer as an assistant coach in 2025. He has decades of coaching experience, including 15 seasons as the first head coach at Academy of Holy Angels, where he led the team to three section championship games and was named 1987 MSHSL State Boys Varsity Coach of the Year.

Paul founded Minnesota Metro United Homeschool Soccer, coaching the boys’ varsity team to four national championship matches and an NHSC National Title (2013). A former University of St. Thomas four-year starter and Minnesota Amateur Premier League player, Paul brings both playing and coaching expertise.

He and his wife, Ann, live in Richfield, where they run a chiropractic practice.

Lucas Johnson

Head JV boys Coach

Lucas Johnson is the head JV boys soccer coach at Providence Academy. He played collegiate soccer at Bethel University, where he studied biokinetics and biochemistry.

Over the past three years, Johnson has worked as an athletic development coach, training athletes across multiple sports while also gaining experience in the integrative medicine field. He has remained closely connected to the game of soccer through volunteer coaching and by leading soccer-based ministry excursions.

Now entering his second season at Providence Academy, Johnson is excited for the opportunity to invest in young athletes, develop their game, and support their growth as players and as young men.

Chris Scanlon

Assistant Varsity Coach & Goalkeeper Coach

Chris Scanlon is an assistant varsity coach and goalkeeper coach for the boys soccer program at Providence Academy. He brings over a decade of coaching experience at the high school and club levels, including time at Chaska High School and with CC United. A former collegiate player at Crown College, Scanlon holds a USSF D License and United Soccer Coaches Goalkeeping Diploma Level 2. He is passionate about developing goalkeepers and mentoring student-athletes both on and off the field.
